We want to prevent spammer accounts and that is more exclusive

first thing: on every edit page, registration and profile, the "ok" or "confirm" buttons are still in german. ^_^

Well if the goal was to bring back good old memories, it worked!  I was really happy to see it back on, as I wrote on the thread it was one of my favourite worlds back in time and I was really sad it disappeared.

Looking forward for the english version!

As for the social networks, if there are any decent one in Italy, I don't know it personally. I use facebook, 'cause I have many non italian friends.

The English Version for the Page is now available, but i am unsure if the translation is 100% correct . So if you see some translations issues on the website please report this to "info [at] whoayou.com".

I was just thinking about which social networks italy have (in germany we have besides facebook , "Wer-kennt-wen" , "StudiVZ" and "lokalisten").

I'm glad to hear the news, I was curious as to try and get registered as well, the only thing that stopped me was a language trouble since I'm not fluent in german.
I think adding an english version for the site would dramatically increase your userbase

yes this planned too and will come I am building a complete overhaul for the community site and english is there planned to to implement 2-3 weeks after the relaunch for the new page.

As English is the most common language we will bringt it as soon as possible.

If english site get launched i would like to inform you peoples here .
I think it will be around februar or march when english language will come.

And i try to translate the Client too in english - as it is possible without changing source code (which isnt possible yet) , this shouldnt be a big problem.

And if there are more peoples from italy interested in whoru italien version, i can give you out the files that need to be changed and you can translate it on your own - that is no problem i think as we dont want to make profit with the 3d chat .

That is the reason why the 3d chat has no items that you can buy with real money - everything can be paid by virtual money that you can earn through chat activity atm.

Our goal was to bring this chat back as some peoples loved it.

We know the problems - but as the 3d chat should be completely recoded we just let it stay as it is and will concentrate more on the community site and build more a social network for it.

If some people remember WhoRU they have the possibility to remember the good old days thats the goal for the 3D chat - not more not less

ma non esiste una versione inglese nemmeno della homepage... son troppo pigra per iscrivermici e trovarmi a dover tradurre tutto dal tedesco (nonostante ami quella lingua XD)

Con mio sommo sbigottimento, mi hanno da poco annunciato che è tornato in campo WhoRU, attualmente ancora in beta.

Per chi non sapesse di che si tratta, è un VETUSTO mondo virtuale koreano gestito in europa da dei tedeschi, piuttosto semplice e piccolo, con il quale mi sono imbattuto assai PRIMA che esistessero colossi come SecondLife. Per i tempi, era una cosa davvero favolosa.
Grafica piacevolmente mangosa, sonoro piacevole, diverse stanze in cui interagire, era uno dei miei mondi virtuali preferiti.
Si tratta di molti anni fa, fino al momento in cui, purtroppo, l'hanno smantellato.

Ora torna in lizza, purtroppo, esattamente come prima... indi per cui non essendo per niente competitivo, per ovvi motivi di personalizzazione dei contenuti, grafica, interattività e sistema gestionale ormai piu' che sorpassati.

Per non parlare del fatto che la sua "community" ovviamente è tedesca.
Quindi si, interfaccia in tedesco, community legata in tedesco, partecipanti tedeschi che non avranno un granche' di problemi a parlare in inglese, ma still, sono tedeschi.

E allora, vi direte, perchè ci stai facendo un thread?
Perchè ci sono affezionato, e per me rivederlo "in vita" e' stato un gran momento. Mi domando se resusciteranno anche GoPets prima o poi.

Ad ogni modo, veniamo al dunque.

WhoRU è, allo stato attuale delle cose, malapena uno strumento di comunicazione tridimensionale rudimentale ridotto all'osso rispetto a tanti altri mezzi non strettamente videoludici.
Rappresenta una "base" dalla divertente impostazione orientale un pò mangosa dalla quale potrebbe svilupparsi un progetto di successo come anche no.
Non c'è molto che ci si possa fare a parte girare in giro allegramente sedendosi su qualcosa e sperando che qualche anima pia ti caghi, in realtà. E' abbastanza noioso e legnoso ormai. Nonostante questo per me è una reliquia da trattare con affetto.

E chissà, un giorno diventerà, (o più probabilmente qualcuno ispirato da lui creerà) un mondo virtuale "mangoso" al passo coi tempi, in cui perderò 4 anni e passa della mia esistenza, ma con un sorriso.
Non si può dire che non sia già abbondantemente successo, ma ne voglio uno mangoso e veloce... Chissa', forse un giorno lo faranno.
